My name is Brittany Conlon, and I am honoured to introduce myself as the Principal for the Junior school program at Columbia Academy. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to support the staff, students, and families and lead Columbia Academy to new heights of success.
I have been dedicated to supporting children and youth for the past 15 years, with a wealth of experience in both public and private K-12 education systems in BC and Japan. Before having an administrative role as Principal, I was the lead teacher of a junior high school double diploma program at a BC offshore school in Japan and worked as a teacher in private and public Japanese elementary schools.
My commitment to education epitomizes lifelong learning, as I hold an M.Ed. in Administration and Leadership from UBC, empowering my knowledge and expertise to guide Columbia Academy effectively. My academic background also includes a B.Ed. specializing in Elementary/Middle School studies and a B.A. specializing in Pacific and Asian Studies, both from UVic, reflecting my global perspective and dedication to cultural understanding.
I want all students to feel safe, a sense of belonging, and feel cared for. While Principal at Columbia Academy, I aim to instill a love of learning in all students and collaborate with them to contribute to our downtown community. I believe in meeting the needs of all students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a supportive environment where everyone can thrive and grow.
I look forward to meeting with you as a partner in your child’s education.
Warm Regards,
Brittany Conlon MEd, BEd
Junior School Principal
