Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic High School Science Teacher, to teach and inspire our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in high school education, a genuine passion for teaching, and the ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans, assessing and evaluating student progress, fostering a positive classroom culture, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to ensure the holistic development of each student. Further, the successful candidate must be a team player and be flexible in their approach toward teaching and learning while serving as an integral part of our school culture.

Teacher positions are available in the following subjects. Capable of teaching the high school curriculum in accordance with the BC Ministry guidelines and the updated BC curriculum.

  • Science 10
  • Biology 11 – 12
  • Chemistry 11 – 12
  • Physics 11 – 12
  • Math 10
  • Pre cal 11- 12
  • Cal 12

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

The candidate for this position will possess the following criteria:

  • Minimum 5 Years of teaching experience with secondary students in relevant subject areas.
  • BC Teacher Certificate (in good standing – required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Excellent English written language and fluent oral communication skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively plan, prioritize, and deliver lessons and assessments.
  • Proven experience teaching high school students, preferably within a diverse classroom setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Attend and engage in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
  • Stay up to date with current educational trends, research, and best practices to continuously improve teaching methodologies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love for learning.
