James Flynn

I’m a qualified teacher since 2017 and have been working full time since graduating in a Masters in Education in Ireland. I worked in a Post Primary/ Secondary School in Ireland for six years teaching English, Geography, Business Studies and Learning Support. I have recently made the move to Vancouver from Ireland and I’m really excited for the upcoming year in Columbia Academy Elementary school teaching Grade 6/7. I love sport and all cross curricular events in schools as it is a great way to build relationships with students. Some of my favourite sports are soccer, basketball, rugby and my sport at home in Ireland which is Gaelic football and hurling. I also love to read, listen to podcasts and keep up to date with current affairs which is relevant to all youths today.
My message to Columbia Academy students is to enjoy every minute of every day here. You will always be respected, accepted and feel safe at Columbia Academy.

Columbia Academy is a unique private high school located in downtown Vancouver, Canada. We offer Grade 8-12 programming and are accredited by the BC Ministry of Education.  Our goal is to help prepare students for acceptance to the top universities in the world.  We are proud to say that more than 90% of our past graduates have been accepted by the top 3 universities in Canada, which are also among the top 50 universities in the world. Starting in September 2023, we are expanding to include an elementary school program (K-7).
