Having been a teacher for fourteen years, I have had the opportunity to work as an English instructor at international language schools, full-time lecturer as well as assistant director of studies at the English Preparatory School of the oldest private university in Istanbul, Turkey.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the department of English Language and Literature at Hacettepe University in 2007, English Language Teaching and Pedagogical Formation degree at Yildiz Technical University in 2008 and Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults by Cambridge University in 2010.

I have experience in curriculum development, testing and material preparation. Besides teaching English, I work as speaking examiner, invigilator and special requirements invigilator at Cambridge First Certificate Exam, Cambridge Advanced Exam and Cambridge Proficiency Exam. Using technology in classroom such as gamification is something I really enjoy since it helps facilitate and reinforce learning both in the classroom setting or online learning.

As a teacher at Columbia Academy, I encourage learner autonomy which helps students become lifelong learners who can stay up to date in an ever-changing world.
