I got my Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in 2006 with a specialization in secondary education majoring in physical sciences and minoring in math. I have been working in the education industry ever since. I have extensive experience with education in many different age groups ranging from grade 5 into adult continuing education. I have also obtained my Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from Carleton University, specializing in chemistry with a concentration in nanotechnology. I worked as a teaching and research assistant at the University of British Columbia as well.
In recent years, I have concentrated on teaching mathematics at a higher level – introducing problem-solving strategies and finding ways to make students more comfortable with advanced mathematics principles by making the concepts more accessible to the average student. I love teaching math and doing math. It is my passion and I truly believe that all students can do well and achieve highly in mathematics. The biggest barrier is often one’s own fear.
