Dave Pearce has been a North Vancouver School District high school educator, Counsellor, Director of instruction and Assistant Superintendent. For the past 35 years, his involvement in education comes with extensive experience throughout the K–12 system. Dave advocates for collaboration and teamwork as a means to advance a positive educational culture within organizations, with emphasis on leadership, supervision/assessment and effective instructional strategies.
Dave holds a M.Ed degree in Administration from the University of Western Washington, a B.Ed degree from University of British Columbia and is author of Instruction Matters; One Step at a Time. This book chronicles the seven-year process of North Vancouver School District’s system wide implementation of in-structional change emphasizing, and providing examples of effective pedagogy at all levels.
Dave has also been keynote speaker on Instructional Intelligence, School Culture, Leadership and Assessment at conferences and workshops in the United States, Canada and Germany. Recently, he has presented and implemented a “leadership academy” for department heads and future leaders at Nash Community College in North Carolina. He has also provided guidance and direction for departments within organizations on the development of strategic plans and goal setting.
